Since 2016, I guess, I have not had a laptop of my own since my first laptop, an Acer Aspire 4750, died. This happened because I accidentally formatted my hard drive and forgot that there was an MBR partition on it, which also got deleted. It was a tough time because I was forced to use a super slow laptop that belonged to my father.
So how do I do my stuff like finishing college, gaming, working, etc?

I’m feeling lucky because every time I get a job, my company always gives me a laptop from their inventory to use. That way, I can use it for personal things like gaming and finishing college, and I don’t have to worry about anything. But that all changed when my current company implemented the ISO 20071 policy in late 2021.
After that, my laptop became limited and I couldn’t even exchange files or turn on Bluetooth. To make matters worse, the office could easily change the background wallpaper whenever they wanted to, I don’t mind if they change it to aesthetic-looking wallpaper, but they change the wallpaper into black and some words on it which were really annoying, I thought my laptop got hacked by some pranks 🤦🏻♂️.
After a long time of considering my options, I decided to buy a MacBook, specifically the base model M1 Pro 14-inch MacBook. It was the most expensive device I’ve ever bought after iPhone 13 pro, but with its specifications and my workload, I think it will last me for 3-4 years before I need to upgrade to a new one, the same goes with my smartphone.
The reasons I choose Mac over Windows laptops
I’ve been using a Windows laptop for over 15 years, starting in elementary school, and I figured it was time to give a Mac a try. I’ve also used a few different Linux distributions, like Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, and Arch Linux, so I don’t think switching to macOS will be too difficult for me.
I became more interested in MacBooks when Apple launched its first Macs with Apple Silicon. They were really hyped online and people said they were super smooth, fast, and didn’t get as hot as Windows laptops usually do.
When I got my current job, I was hoping to get a Macbook M1 Air, but instead, they gave me an ASUS laptop with a Core i7 processor. That experience taught me not to expect anything in particular. LOL.
So here it is, after saving my money for 3 years, I finally bought my first laptop.

Welcome mac, I’m so happy to have you, now print me a bunch of money please! LOL
